Entries close next Thursday for the sixth annual Irish News Workplace and Employment Awards, which will take place on Thursday June 21.

There is an added frenzy of activity among companies and organisations this year, especially given the change to the £100 million Titanic Belfast venue.

“We’re absolutely delighted with the response to date in relation to our Workplace and Employment Awards,” Irish News marketing manager John Brolly said.

“Clearly organisations value the benefits that come from securing finalist status as it communicates a positive message both internally and externally, providing an extra edge in today’s competitive environment.

“It is a great opportunity to highlight and celebrate the vitally important ‘people resource’ that is key to any organisation.”

Special guest at this year’s awards will be Nick Hewer, who is Lord Sugar’s right-hand man on The Apprentice who also presents Countdown each afternoon on Channel 4.

“We’re thrilled to have secured Nick’s services and he will be a tremendous draw at our dinner on June 21,” Mr Brolly said.

This year’s awards include new and revised categories and have the backing of six key business partners -Kingsbridge PrivateHospital, Investors in People, Tughans, Tesco, PwC and Liberty IT.
